Fishing in Sydney

Sydney is a city that needs no introduction, yet, hidden within its vast richness of waterways is an often kept secret, the fishing.

Sydney is arguably the greatest urban saltwater fishing destination in the world.   Huge schools of pelagic fish inhabit these waters, for some, or all of the year.  The amazingly hard fighting, brawling, Kingfish with its never give up attitude and dirty tactics is a favored species.

Add to the mix the amazing leaps and fight of Australian Salmon, the hard fight of Bonito, Mac Tuna and Striped Tuna. Tangle with the toothy Tailor (bluefish) or the bulldozing dives and runs of Amberjack, Sampson fish and Cobia.
There is a host of tropical and temperate species that all make a recipe for line burning fun.  Sydney has a 12month fishery, with many species available throughout the entire year.

Sydney Harbour alone has over 50 species of fish that can be caught.

Whether its the spectacular wilderness lined Broken Bay and Pittwater or the iconic Sydney Harbour, the fishing on offer in Sydney is simply fantastic.
